When you are young and firm, you can just get away with anything you wear. Young girls don’t even bother with buying expensive lingerie. It is only as you age that gravity plays a huge role in shaping your silhouette. Wearing a well fitted bra can actually make it seem that you have lost pounds. Depending upon the fit,it it is magical how spillovers and double breasting can be avoided. This actually gives the impression that you have lost weight. Wearing the right size of bra means that you have to take care about the band size and the cup size. Wearing a large band size means that the bra won’t fit properly and slide up giving the impression of sagging. Similarly a small cup size means there will be spillover which again gives the impression of excessive flab. With me it looked as if I have apparently lost 2-3 kg. Simply by by switching over to a properly fitted bra. All of a sudden it seemed that I had a nice waistline, which earlier was not showing. because of sagging.

Same for underwear. Wearing one with a very tight elastic will give rise to a muffin top. Even through your clothes you can see the flab. Looks pretty unsightly. So the best way is to wear hipster panties with a broad. not too tight waistband. That way it would hide the flab rather than enhance it.

So before buying your designer clothes, make sure you are are wearing well fitting lingerie.
It will make you look slimmer and more pleasing to the eye.
So,happy shopping.
I had to get up early today morning for a class I had to take. As I stepped out ,there was a blast of cold wind. I shuddered. Instantly I thought of my various drapes and shrugs, and decided to pull them out of my wardrobe as soon as I reached home.
So here are my collection of shrugs. All of them are long and cover the hip,a must at my age and with my profession.(I am a professor teaching in a medical; college)
The blue ones are from Benetton.
The grey ones are from Marks and Spencers.
The rest I picked up from Hong Kong, when I visited it last year.
I team them up with absolutely anything. The fall is good and sleek, and they are excellent for layering.
Such drapes are a must for a winter capsule wardrobe.
Next I shall continue with my collection of shawls and drapes.
ENJOY!
P.S. Please excuse the picture quality. Still don’t know how to use the DSLR very well.Trying hard.
Time and again I think bout blogging. I think all of us do. My major concern sometimes is my reason for blogging. I love writing. I love that blogging has no rules attached . l feel liberated when I write bout anything under the sun, without giving a damn. But the only thing is that I am obsessed about it. If I am busy the whole day and if I don’t get the time to check out my blog reader, I become so impatient.
My family feels I am putting so much time and effort into blogging unnecessarily. People also say that I blog at the expense of my relationship time. I would not lie that sometimes this thought also crosses my mind. What am I going to again from blogging. Do I want money, fame, happiness, friends or catharsis?

This above post dded fuel to the fire. But I absolutely loved it.
I am confused. Do tell me if you have some other expectations from blogging other than, creative satisfaction or happiness. Or do you also think, that I am wasting my time.
By the time I finished writing this post, I have answered my question… Happiness it is!
Still I would love some of your viewpoints.
Thanks.
Winter is starting to make its presence felt here in Delhi. There is just a slight nip in the air.
For an evening out I wore this fusion ensemble. Layering has always been a passion, and here I layered my kurta with an off white cotton embroidered jacket from Janpath.. As my winter clothes are still deep inside my closet,I had no option but to make do with my summer separates. It was a bonus that the colors matched the colors of the Indian flag.
The kurta is from Fabindia.
I am wearing off white palazzos.
Nude slippers, silver cuff and a matching bag complete the look.
ENJOY!

Fill in the blank: “Life is too short to _____.” Now, write a post telling us how you’ve come to that conclusion.

Life is too short
To hate anybody
Life is too short
To be a nobody
Life is too short
To be at war
Life is too short
To be shown the door
Life is too short
To be without love
Life is too short
To forget the God above.
I thought of this after watching Homeland.
I always maintain that fashion should be comfortable and it should look good on you. One should not follow trends blindly.
For me and my work environment, I mainly stick to long kurtas. It definitely gives a slimmer silouhette and looks good.
Here I am sharing with you my favorite color blocked kurta, that I bought from a boutique in delhi. I have paired it with palazzos and also a black dupatta. As it is fall, deep colors look very nice.
My all time silver jewellery finishes the look.
When there is a lot of color in your outfit, always go for nude slippers.
This kurta is priced at INR3500.
It always is a good idea to have a capsule wardrobe of basic must haves like nude slippers, black lowers and statement neckpieces . That way, you just have to buy uppers, and then it is easy to mix and match.

ENJOY!

Love the color Indigo. It is a nice change from black, but with the same intensity.
I am wearing a long indigo cotton kurta with plain collars. This adds a nice shirt look to the kurta.
The front strip on the kurta has two offbeat colors to add some quirkiness…yellow and peacock blue.
The kurta is long and I am wearing a light denim ankle length pants .
I am wearing flat silver slippers. A nice diamante chrono watch by Fossil completes the look. As a necklace I am wearing a silver hasli. Also a nice broad silver cuff adds the required richness to the outfit.
The whole outfit is for around INR3500, except the watch and jewellery.
Hope you like it.
ENJOY…HAVE FUN!

She was beautiful.Golden curls cascaded down her shoulders. She had big brown eyes and a porcelain complexion. But she never thought that her beauty could attract a king. It was that night in winter, when she wanted to go into the palace and see for herself what the prince looked like. In a dull green caraco over a torn petticoat and her hair tied under a bonnet, she looked an ordinary girl from the village. No one could imagine how beautiful she was under her modest attire.
As she sneaked into the palace corridor, there were guards all around. Oh she was so excited to see the prince. As she walked along the palace corridor lined with beautiful chandeliers, she could not help but notice the yellow light falling on the gold walls. It was giving an ethereal glow to the palace.
It was then she was taken aback by a hand on her shoulder.. She looked over her shoulder to see a handsome face. It was the prince himself. Dresses in a ruffled silk waistcoat and golden breeches, he looked extremely handsome.
They stared into each others eyes for a long time. It was when she tried to pull away, his lips descended on hers and they kissed under the glow of the beautiful chandelier in the passage….to be together forever.

This was the only thought that came into mind after seeing the picture of the chandelier.
