The small floral buttons on the kurta are delightful.

It has been a task always to add variety to my winter wear.

Here I am wearing a long silk kurta, with paisley print. The brown color gives a nice change from black and greys. On top , i am wearing a long brown sweater with collars. The richness of silk adds sophistication. There is not much need of accessories, if the material is nice.

The kurta has collars which I have buttoned up.

A nice comfortable wear for work.

OOTD -Winter Checks

Standard

Wearing checks in winter is a must for me. It adds nice variety to the daily monotony of wearing black.

Here I am wearing a grey black check collared dress with tights and a wool blend sweater in steel grey.

I have a black pashmina stole knotted around my neck. This is winter capsule wardrobe essential.

How to Wear Pants with Dresses.

Standard

Hi there! It is that time of the year again when the chill sets in. Now I am a great lover of a longish silhouette. But in winters you need to keep warm also. So how do I pair my dresses with pants?

This was a look for the youngsters.

For my age here it is…

Pairing dresses with tights is also a smart option. Try and go for shoes in the same color as the pant or you can wear nude shoes too.

The safest option is to wear black pants or leggings with black boots. This gives an impression of length.

Add a scarf for warmth.

The best part of this look is that it hides flab and is super comfy.

I hope to rock this look this winter.

Blue Is The New Black

Standard

Yess…for me this is true. I am huge fan of this color. I also mix blue with black for an interesting look.

I wear longish outfits, as they are slimming and suit my age.

Here, I am wearing a blue kurta with black palazzos, and a navy blue long fine knit sweater. (sorry for the bad picture quality…working towards it!)

I have accessorized it with a silver necklace with Lapis Lazuli beads, that I got from Jaipur.

Wore this to an evening at a winter carnival .

To take care of the walking, wore nude flats

Long Kurta with Animal Print

Standard

I am a huge fan of traditional wear but I love a slight twist. Today I am wearing a long yellowish beige kurta with an animal print patching on the neckline and on the hemline.

I have paired it with a simple silver hasli and diamond earrings.
To beat the chill I have picked up a black shrug.
Beige  ballet flats complete the look.
The key is not to go OTT and let the animal print stand out.

This is a nice outfit for fall. It is traditional yet has a contemporary touch to it.

Fall Clothing…Colors Of India.

Standard

Winter is starting to make its presence felt here in Delhi. There is just a slight nip in the air.

For an evening out I wore this fusion ensemble. Layering has always been a passion, and here I layered my kurta with an off white cotton embroidered jacket from Janpath.. As my winter clothes are still deep inside my closet,I had no option but to make do with my summer separates. It was a bonus that the colors matched the colors of the Indian flag.

The kurta is from Fabindia.

I am wearing off white palazzos.

Nude slippers, silver cuff and a matching bag complete the look.

LONG KURTA WITH PYJAMAS.

Standard

Hi folks! Now that I have introduced you to the indian wear terminology,I am going to go ahead and show how the demure kurta can be worn.

Here I am wearing a printed pakistani print kurta with black cotton pyjamas. the pyjamas are slightly above ankles and the kurta is quite long.

I wore this while traveling. It is comfortable and looks fresh.Got a lot of compliments for this outfit.

The length of the kurta gives a slimming effect.

A nice wear  for fall.

You can wear heels with this outfit, but I wore flats, as I wanted to travel in comfort. The nude color goes with everything, so I had to pack less.

My silver neckpiece from Jaipur, is an all time favorite of mine.

My whole outfit except the accessories, costed just INR 4500(shoes included)

Writing a fashion blog entails a lot of effort and passion. You want to share your views on fashion and learn more from fellow fashion bloggers. As I go through so many fashion blogs one thing stands out. Most bloggers put up #OOTD regularly featuring themselves as models. Its so nice. I would love to do it too. But I have a problem. In fact two problems. No three maybe. Leave it. There are too many ”ifs and buts.”

First and foremost. I am 49 years old . Can I model my outfits or am I too old for that ?

Second equally important. I wear mainly Indian or fusion wear . Are there any takers for that?

Third. I am married and have been for 26 years. I have no boyfriend who could click my pictures with dedication and affection. Of course photographers wont have a similar passion. So I lose out on that.

Fourth. My son is a great photographer. You must have seen the photographs that I put up on my sites .They are all shot by him. But ,he doesn’t like to shoot people. Oh, are girlfriends not people. Every second his display picture on WatsApp is changed. He is there with ”people”. So may be I am a mom and so do not conform to his idea of an actual; person.

Fifth. Even if I overcome all the above, what should I do about the people around me who are ready to judge me? I am not the right age or in the right profession to model. What if my students come across my blog, or my children’s friends see me. Now that they say is going to be a disgrace. Especially when my daughter who is 26 , is about to be married. What will her husband and his family say?

So ,what do I do.Stop writing?

Can you wonderful people out there believe that I have not activated the Facebook option on publicize. THIS I HAVE DONE SO MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY DON’T JUDGE ME.

So what do I do?

To all my fellow women who are aging, you maybe be called a fashionista in your circles but mind it, you cannot model or put up pictures of you in interesting outfits on social media without being judged.

Lets think about a way out of this . Help me too. I am in a dilemma .

BE HAPPY ALWAYS

( IF YOU CAN BE YOURSELF)

XOXO
