The Scarf story.

Hi folks! My blog started with fashion and things like poetry and photography followed. But the urge to share my personal fashion tips is back again!
Today I am going to talk about the power of scarves….yessss!!!!
A nice scarf can totally transform your look. A plain one with a printed outfit, a printed multicoloured scarf to pep up a boring dress, and of course a clash of prints for a bohemian look . The choices are endless. We also can change the material of the scarf according to the clothes. A scarf in pure silk instantly adds class!
Then there are summer scarves and winter stoles. The bulky winter woollen stoles add warmth and lend a lot of fun to your attire! Hey can also be used to beat the winter chill.
The summer scarves on the other hand help add color and style to an otherwise dull outfit.
And lastly folks who can deny the beauty of the different ways of draping a stole!!!!! But then that’s a long story and will be dealing with it later.
So guys…. funk it up with a classic scarf….
Will be posting pictures in the next post .
Till then…. have fun!!!!!

Long shrug.

I am a great fan of long shrugs. Especially, ultralong ones are a boon for a slimming effect.

Here, I am wearing a long multicolored Rajasthani Kurta, with black palazzos and a sleeveless lycra black shrug. This is a typical fusion wear. I love this shrug, as it has come to my rescue a number of times ,when I need a flattering silhouette

The long multicolored kurta gives a nice break to the black outfit.

The light layering is enough for the slight chill.

I have accessorized very less in this outfit, as the colors of the kurta stand out.

Nude ballerinas are perfect for this attire.

A great outfit for women who don’t want to let go of their ethnic wear.

Black and White Scarf.

Hi folksĀ ! Winter time is all about wrapping yourself in layers. What better than a scarf. I have already talked about adding drama by wearing black and white. I am a huge fan of this combination, as it adds a lot of drama instantly. Here is my favorite black and white scarf. It can be worn with an all black outfit.

white scarf

black scarf

Bright lips and nails complete the look.

Shrug Madness.

I had to get up early today morning for a class I had to take. As I stepped out ,there was a blast of cold wind. I shuddered. Instantly I thought of my various drapes and shrugs, and decided to pull them out of my wardrobe as soon as I reached home.

So here are my collection of shrugs. All of them are long and cover the hip,a must at my age and with my profession.(I am a professor teaching in a medical; college)

drapes blue

drapes brown

drapes black

The blue ones are from Benetton.

The grey ones are from Marks and Spencers.

The rest I picked up from Hong Kong, when I visited it last year.

I team them up with absolutely anything. The fall is good and sleek, and they are excellent for layering.

Such drapes are a must for a winter capsule wardrobe.

Next I shall continue with my collection of shawls and drapes.

P.S. Please excuse the picture quality. Still don’t know how to use the DSLR very well.Trying hard.
