……………..
there it falls
smoothening out my rough edges
the mallet of changing environs
love like no one ever did
live like no one ever lived and
life would be liveable

Though the following haiku is not exactly following the prompt, I feel one should not lose oneself in an attempt to bring about a change.
as life goes on
change is inevitable
remain together through the vicissitudes

Its Diwali time here in India. A beautiful festival full of lights, food, sweets and loads of happiness .Everybody is happy. Dressed up in their finest clothes all are gearing up for the Lakshmi Puja in the evening. I am also happy , but…
….But I am also so scared.
Will it last…peace, happiness,contentment.
Maybe I am a pessimist or I am God fearing. I don’t know, but whenever I have too much of a good time I silently start saying my prayers. No illness for a long time, no money crunch, no fights at home,a perfect family vacation, children doing well in their lives, weight under control. Oh the list is endless. Things that are taken for granted by many, but for me my whole world revolves around them. I feel blessed if I sleep well for a week. I am on top of the world if my blog gets a lot of likes. I go berserk with happiness, If my family is free of ill health and all are sitting eating together.
It was 35 years back that I had my dad, mom, and my dog with me while celebrating Diwali. Those were happy times. I was young , a child and had no responsibilities. Now I am the mom, the elder of the family, but I am happy. But deep down there is a lurking sense of fear.
Am I losing my mind or do I really need to be scared. For as they say , whatever goes up comes down. Is this going to happen to me also? Gives me the jitters. Help me god. The constancy of change scares me.
Or do all people think like that?
No time to contemplate now….have to go…
So ,will come back late at night or tomorrow, to share my Diwali with you.
You all will be there?
Please be, I told you I love constancy in life.
Till then!
Waiting to be fearless and happy.
BE HAPPY ALWAYS
XOXO

Does the above picture look innocent?
NO
Do kids really need fashion? With the new breed of celebrity kids mushrooming on the horizon there is a huge trend that advocates fashion for small children. Now it is one thing to make your child aware of the importance of dressing well , but to encourage them to dress like adults iS so frustrating. Here are some suggestions on how to make them effortlessly trendy without imposing fashion on them.
1) Teach them cleanliness and neatness.
Refer to my post…https://toweararainbow.wordpress.com/2014/09/17/all-about-hands-and-feet/
It is worthwhile to inculcate that habit early on in your kids.
2) Good posture.
Time and again I have advocated the role of a good posture in how you look. Stand up straight, shoulders back, chin up and a smile on your face. And that’s it …you are raring to go!
3) Physical activity.
Kids should know the importance of exercise and a good healthy diet. If they have the habit of leading a healthy lifestyle, automatically they shall grow up into beautiful adults.

4) Teach them by example.
How you dress up, how you carry yourself , what is your maintenance routine, all this rubs off on your children. Behave the way you would like them to behave.
5) No make up for kids.
Now that is something all of us should follow. It looks terrible if you let your child wear make up. At least not till they are in their teens.
6) Make them wear the right lingerie at the right time.
This is of utmost importance. Any delay in starting the right bra will lead to physical and emotional problems for your girl. I know it sounds too gross but believe me this is one of the most important milestone in dressing up as an adult. A delay in starting the wearing of a bra, a wrong fit and a lack of communication with your daughter may lead to loss of self confidence later on on life.
7) Teach them to be what they are.
Instill confidence in them and teach them to love themselves. Rest will surely follow. After all it’s not clothes that make the man.
