seasons

Standard

looking out of my window

cuddled in my bed

all I could see

orange gold and red

autumn with its colours

saying goodbye to summer heat

I wait with a cup of tea

for I had the winter to beat

Come on winter..

I wait for thee

I wait for the Christmas vibe

And for the Christmas tree

I wait for the seasons to change

till I go over the hill

For it’s a beautiful life

Which I fully want to live

Silhouettes

Standard

I repeatedly

Look into the stained mirror

Above

The sink

At my workplace

And

Into the car rear view mirror

Into

The sunglasses

My daughter wears

Reflections

Caught in the

Shop windows

But

I see

What I am

An ageing woman

Whose youth

Is

Now dwindling

And

The silhouettes

Too

Don’t favour her

Anymore

we are unstoppable

……………………………………………………………………….

we breathe

we live

we are unstoppable

…..

we watch

we think

we are unstoppable

….

we like

we love

we are unstoppable

….

we pray

we wish

we are unstoppable

…..

we work

we toil

we are unstoppable

…..

death calls

we abide

we are unstoppable

fatal attraction

Standard

the first grey hair
the very first wrinkle
my first spectacles
eyes without a twinkle

being lost in the crowd
no one giving a second glance
walking alone lost in my thoughts
nothing can I leave to chance

and then when I see him
my heart still skips a beat
a flutter, a shiver
did he turn on the heat

and I go back a million years
to the days of love and passion
the eyes gleam, the skin glows
it’s all about fatal attraction

bathos

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

i cried when i shifted homes

i sobbed when i changed school

i was sad when he didn’t write

i was woeful , an emotional fool

……………………………………………………………………………………………….

i mourned the loss of my dog

i was miserable when i sold my car

i was unhappy when i saw a beggar

hungry and thirsty outside a bar

…………………………………………………………………………………………………

the tears rolled down endlessly

when i got married and left home

i was distraught on leaving my parents

i didn’t want them to be alone

…………………………………………………………………………………………………..

and when death took my dad away

my whole world came crumbling down

till date the wounds haven’t healed

till date i haven’t visited my home town

………………………………………………………………………………….

the  ruthless chasm of bathos

keeps taking me in its fold

i wish i was more strong hearted

life would have been easy manifold

memories….

………………………………………………………………………………………………

balmy wind blowing

through the sun dappled trees

lazing around in the shade

shadows playing hide and seek

…………………

eyes heavy with slumber

the cosy bed beckoning

the sweet sound of a lullaby

 happy dreams came calling

…………………

 playing childhood pranks

on young and old alike

oh give me back those days

no worries, no strife

………………………

there was laughter and fun

life was like a dream

i relive them through my kids

with happiness my eyes gleam

SLEEP….Tokubetsudesu #56 Choka (or Nagauta)

Standard

the night descends

making my mind fearful

of what lies ahead

the myriad thoughts about life

in my head

making sleep more elusive

and the insomniac is ready to face the world

(envoy or hanka)

and the long day ahead

makes me daydream about sleep

ironical it is

to wait for the night to descend

circle of life at its best
