want a lovely smile
what if your clothes are in tatters
you look beautiful
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “What a Twist!.”
i waited for night to fall
i waited for people to sleep
i waited to be alone in my room
i waited for everyone to leave
…………………………………………………..
i dressed in my best nightwear
i wore my favorite perfume
i brushed and flossed my teeth
and sat pretty in my room
………………………………………………..
and then the moment came
when my dream man came to me
i had a night full of passion
i was happy and free
………………………………………………
and when the morning came
we sat and ate together
no one else seemed to notice him
they would not get it, maybe never
………………………………………………..
he was everywhere around me
but he was invisible to all
was he for real or was he a ghost
for no one could hear him fall
…………………………………………………….
and it seems i was in love with a ghost
but the experience was surreal
at least he gave me a lot of happiness
what if he was not for real
https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/a-house-divided/
Pick a divisive issue currently in the news. Write a two-part post in which you take on two personas and approach the topic from both sides. Bonus points for a creative format (roundtable discussion, debate transcript, etc.).
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………
a man and a woman
divided duties
divided sensibilities
divided emotional quotients
love passion
divided needs
divided satisfaction
man woman children
divided love
divided care
endless
always
for centuries
for ever
and ever
never changing
give me love
unconditional
give me love
to last for ever
………………………………..
give me love
all pervading
give me love
never fading
…………………………………
give me love
all consuming
give me love
long enduring
………………………………
so as i lie
on my deathbed
your unwavering love
shall remain after i have left
the warm languid breeze touches your face
your skin flushes in the aftermath
i long to caress you
In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Final Trio.”
https://dailypost.wordpress.com/dp_prompt/final-trio/
For our final trio prompt of the year, write about any topic you wish, but make sure your post features a bookcase, something cracked, and a song you love.
Warm sunlight streamed through the window,
Lighting up my bookcase,
I looked on as my books came to life,
A smile came across my face.
I looked back as something cracked,
It was the sound of steps on my wooden floor,
And there he was in all his glory,
Heathcliff had just entered from the door.
As my favorite love song played in the background,
I felt like Cathy from Wuthering Heights,
It was a dream come true for me,
It was the ultimate delight.
It was a moment suspended in time,
All my fantasies had come true,
It was love all around,
Life had changed, out of the blue.
Then, I was woken from my sleep,
By my husband of 26 years,
He is no Heathcliff,
But he is my joie de vivre.
