and a wonderful sense of continuity

Daughters Day…haiku

born a tiny girl

she grew up to be a beautiful woman

my daughter, my friend

autumn days

basking in the golden sunshine

feeling the balmy air on my face

lost in the memories of my past

remembering the long gone days

lazy afternoons and lazy dreams

thoughts of you lingering in my mind

the laid back afternoon siesta

ah those moments, difficult to find

i miss the languid days of autumn

they may never come back again

 i revel in the thought that i had them

without you they never will be the same

you have it all

as i go through the day

walking on my two feet

breathing on my own

as if I accomplished a feat

i can eat my own food

as i can see the beautiful world

with these middle aged eyes

the lovely view has unfurled

there would be a time

not so far in future, dear

when all this would be arduous
