lonesome tonight … haiku

lonesome night

my resounding heart beat

gives me company

expectations

I am angry

not at you

for you have stood by me

but with myself

for expecting much more

glory

the mirror does not lie

just like your soul

age has come girl

gone are your days of glory

in the eyes of others

but

“you” remain

your best friend

love yourself

respect your body

and go on

to live a life of fulfilment

a beautiful soul

it’s God’s gift

when you have good looks

and people love you

but

what about the beautiful soul

which is

always overlooked

vulnerable

can you see through it

through the pretence and facade

the vulnerable woman in me

pining for you

to take me in your protective arms

and be a girl once again

Hey girl!

hey girl

look around you

you are

undoubtedly the best

so go on

live your life

to the fullest

with no regrets

for you only live once

No fame no pain

I don’t want fame

And too much money

I don’t need People

to recognise

me

as I grow old

for I just want to settle down

With my own family

Without unwanted human

interactions

from fellow humans

Just give pain

I asked my poetry

“you went…

in the search of greener pastures ”

she replied…

lazy afternoon…haiku

scented balmy air

lazing in the dappled shadows

memories abound

a new world

to travel alone

to a far off destination

is my dream

for even

I don’t know

who I will be

and what would be my actions

with no one to hold me back

where

I won’t be a mother, daughter, sister

but just a random free soul

out to explore the

new world
