What breaks the heart

Standard

Across the room
The eyes met
He was the one
She could bet

More love lorn days
Were soon to follow
The sleepless nights
Days were no longer hollow

They got married
Life was beautiful
Two kids later
Life was full

Then as age crept up
Indifferences rose
They hated each other
Emotions froze

Facing each other in court
The family fought
Love went away
All were distraught

Where does the love go
Why people fall apart
Why do egos clash
What breaks the heart

We are One.

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Circle of Five.”

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

we were five

when i was born

my family and me

to each other we were drawn

………………………………………………………..

a bit stubborn

like my mother

emotional like my dad

not like some other

…………………………………………………………

i look like my sisters

and behave like them too

we have a bond so strong

no one can construe

………………………………………………….

and then i am like me

i have some thing of my own

it is unique no doubt

but together we make a home

Sanity.

You have three hundred words to justify the existence of your favorite person, place, or thing. Failure to convince will result in it vanishing without a trace. Go!

…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

as i sit in my room

many thoughts cross my mind

i look around to see my environs

nothing amiss i can find.

……………………………………………………….

i see my loving husband

and my beautiful kids

my sisters as a support

they would love me, whatever i did.

………………………………………………………..

as i take in the perfect scene

i feel blessed to have it all

but if i lose my mind

who shall take the call

…………………………………………………..

the most important thing is my sanity

it helps me feel the love

to be a part of this heaven

and live happily in this world.

………………………………………………..

no one lives forever

nothing is interminable

so it is sanity for me

to endure the inevitable.

My Very Own Rainbow

Standard

Every morning when I get up, the first thought that comes to my mind is :What am I excited about today? What is it I am looking forward to? Today being a Saturday, I had more time to make myself realise that there are a lot of things that bring happiness and color to my life. So, what makes my rainbow?

The feeling that I am alive. The realization that I am alive is a beautiful feeling in itself.

I feel I am lucky to be able to have ample food on my table.

I have a family, that loves me and looks after me. I am their world and they are mine.

I have a warm cosy home.

Now on a day to day basis there are small things that make my day. Here follows:

1) What I am going to wear that day. I love to pick up clothes and accessories on a daily basis from my wardrobe and dress according to my mood.

2) Blogging. From the moment I wake up I start thinking about what I am going to post on mt blog. Tha daily photo challenges and various other creative writing prompts make me blissfully busy.

3) Talking on the phone with my sisters. It is the ultimate relaxation.

4)Online surfing for interesting deals on clothes ,handbags and accessories is fun.

5) Waiting to watch my favorite TV shows is great too. The ones that I love are: ”Desperate Housewives”,”Modern Family”, ”Grey’s Anatomy” and any episode of ”Friends”.

6)  Planning for any upcoming event like a marriage or an anniversary ,festival in the family. We also keep planning short vacations from time to time to keep up the excitement.

So, life is not bad! It is up to you to create your own rainbow.

ENJOY!

Share Your World – 2014 Week 44

http://ceenphotography.com/2014/11/03/share-your-world-2014-week-44/

What is your most vivid memory of the kitchen in your childhood?

My most vivid memory in the kitchen was of making tea at night to keep awake while studying. My sister , who is 4 years elder to me was not the studious kinds. So when we both woke up at night to study, she would keep a pan filled with water on the gas stove, saying she would make tea when the water boiled. One of these nights she forgot the pan on the stove. After some time there was smoke coming out of the kitchen and the pan was charred. Both of us got a good scolding from mom.

As a child, who was your favorite relative?

As a child my favorite relative was my mother’s sister. She pampered me a lot. In winters ,she would carry me around and not leave me on the floor,so that I would not feel cold.

What did you or did not like about the first apartment you ever rented?

I stayed in rented apartments only when I was not married. My earliest good memory of a rented apartment was when we stayed in the hospital premises as my dad was a doctor. The house was huge, and we got great V.I.P. treatment. Everything was provided for by the hospital authorities.

The not so good memories were, when my dad retired and we had to take up an rented accommodation outside the hospital, in the city. It was a total contrast to our earlier homes. My dad became depressed, because now he felt very ordinary and unimportant. Those were depressing times.

What kind of TV commercial would you like to make? Describe it.

My kind of TV commercial would feature parents, children and a dog. It would be emotional, and should evoke memories of my own childhood.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

From last week, I am grateful that my husband’s surgery was successful, and we are back home. It was a difficult one week, as we were in and out of the hospital.

ENJOY!

For the coming week, I am looking forward to my routine.I really missed it .I hate change, and I love my monotony.

Post Vacation Pick me ups.

Post Vacation Pick me ups.

http://www.usatoday.com

The vacation is over and I am back to the daily grind. Work, household chores and the works. To make things difficult there is the holiday weight gain, tanning and the post vacation blues. So here is what I do to get my life back on track after the lively holiday.

1) Holiday weight.

Binging on cookies , choc chip cookies and liquor does take a toll on your weight. Now stuffing yourself silly is the best part of holidays .But when the needle on the scale shoots up , what to do.

http://www.posh24.com

.Hide it till it doesn’t disappear. Back from a week long vacation , I am horrified to see the scale. Now have to go back to work and cannot bear to hear the exclamations of coworkers… Oooh you have had a great holiday it seems. Your weight shows it. So what do. I do till I go back to my pre holiday weight. I dress accordingly . What is my post holiday dress up mantra?

.Dress in dark colors. Black, navy, dark brown, deep purple whatever is your favorite color wear it.
* Cover it… Carry a stole or a dupattas to hide what you don’t want to flaunt.
* Wear heels ..wearing heels can add a slimming effect. If you have to go for work wear comfortable wedges. Try to wear nude shoes so that it gives the impression of Long legs.
* Lastly dress up well. Nice hair nice makeup will shift the focus away from the weight.
* Wear shapewear .
* Get on to a fitness regime asap. Exercise, diet , lots of water all will help u too get back into shape fast and so darlings before you know you are ready for your next vacation.
2) Go for a rejuvenating spa and facial.

Helps remove exhaustion and the facial helps remove the dirt and grime, preparing you for the weeks ahead. Not to mention the glow it gives you.

3) Plan your next vacation.

Before you land on home turf  start planning for your next holiday. That is what I do. My next trip out of town is already planned before I am home. That keeps up the excitement and helps avoid the post vacation depression. Keep the adrenaline flowing.
4) Enjoy the photographs.

They help you to relive the glorious moments.Sit with your family and friends and go back into time as you watch the videos and pictures from your vacation. That itself is like a mini holiday. Stack up on snacks, cocktails or mocktails and devote a whole evening catching up on the memories of the wonderful time you had.

5) Cultivate a hobby.

I do that. Whenever I am back from a long vacation , I START ON A NEW HOBBY. It maybe reading, writing or cooking. The key is to keep the adrenaline flowing.

It really works.

Till your next holiday!

BE HAPPY ALWAYS
