Trick or Trick

It’s Halloween, and you just ran out of candy. If the neighborhood kids (or anyone else, really) were to truly scare you, what trick would they have to subject you to?

I am always terrified of noisy kids…so here it is what it would take to scare me…hahaha.

Its Halloween, give us candy,

Make sure you give it to us,

Or else you know our modus operandi,

So better not create a fuss.

Its our right so we ask,

No point in hiding now,

Its not that big a task,

Come and take a bow.

All night we will be at your door,

We will not let you sleep,

Some will lie and cry on your floor,

We will tell all you are so cheap.

I would go on.

Standard

The breeze may dishevel my hair, the sand may enter my shoes, I would still go on.

The water from the sea would splash in my face and my make up would be smudged, but I would still go on.

It would rain and I would be drenched but I would go on.

The sun would burn my feet, but I would run and stand in the shade, I would go on.

The seasons shall change and the cold will numb my toes, of course I would go on.

The timelessness would be there, no destination in sight, but only a long winding road, I would love to go on.

The tears may stream down my face and then they may dry up, still I would go on.

No designer clothes, no made up hair, no slippers on my feet but I would go on.

My feet digging into the grass, the birds chirping around me,I would go on.

A life with no rules, no inhibitions, I would die to go on.

A person whom you love, who loves you back in return, who wouldn’t go on?

A strong shoulder to lean on, no pretence or pressure, I would definitely go on.

A life so simple, away from the rigmarole, no one to be answerable to, no one to question you, wouldn’t you go on?

Some food in the stomach, some water to drink, nowhere to go , no one coming to you….lets go on.

BE HAPPY ALWAYS

What a night!

Trio No. 3

Today you can write about anything, in whatever genre or form, but your postmust mention a dark night, your fridge, and tears (of joy or sadness; your call). Feel free to switch one ingredient if you have to (or revisit one from previous trioprompts)

The night was dark and eerie,

The winds blew cold,

My stomach growled with hunger,

No one was home I was told.

I rushed to the kitchen,

Looking  for food,

The fridge was in sight,

Thinking of food I drooled.

I cried tears of fear,

As I saw what was inside

They were cut fingers of a witch,

My fear I could not hide.

As I stepped towards the kitchen door,

It was like a dream,

But as I opened the fridge door,

I realized it was Halloween..

Age Is Just A Number…12 reasons you should wait to get old.

Standard

Age is just a number they say. Ok, done. You may grow old in body but not in mind. Fine.Your body may ache, the mind may forget and you may be depressed…but age is just a number Ok, agreed.

There are benefits and drawbacks.

The Benefits.

You can get away with murder. No not literally, but there are many situations where many concessions are awarded to the senior citizens.

  1. Train and plane tickets are cheaper.
  2. You shall always be offered seats in a public place.
  3. You can conveniently afford to forget birthdays, anniversaries ….blame it on senile dementia. So you can forget to give gifts.
  4. Your birthdays will be celebrated with great pomp and show.
  5. Dress up a little and post your picture on social media sites. You will surely receive more than 100 likes, leave aside the compliments.
  6. Go for a morning walk, control your diabetes, and you will always be complimented on being so well maintained.
  7. Write a blog and you will always be a successful blogger, for very few of your age manage to do it.
  8. You shall receive innumerable gifts, as now you even have grandchildren.
  9. You can relax and enjoy all family events secretly sipping your wine, as you are too old to do anything else.
  10. Sleeping during the day is a luxury you can indulge in, as you have insomnia.
  11. Can say no to sex anytime you are not in a mood…after all your age doesn’t allow it!
  12. You can ogle at the younger lot without suspicion….maybe he /she reminds you of your granddaughter/grandson.(you can hug them too.)

So I think aching bones, wrinkles, dementia and insomnia are a very small price to pay for all the great benefits listed above.

What say!!!

I WANT IT ALL.

Something I had written on my other blog:theyyouandme.wordpress.com

Thought it fit for NURTURING THURSDAYS.

They, You and Me

It is not easy to find happiness in ourselves, and it is not possible to find it elsewhere. - Agnes RepplierHappiness….can u have it all?
I want to have it all. Beauty, money, family, health, mental peace, not necessarily in that order. Actually the order changes with age, education, experiences, and so many other factors. A hungry man finds his happiness in food, water it is for somebody thirsty, sleep for an insomniac like me and love for those yearning for it. It is not possible to pinpoint what or who gives you happiness. A complement makes your day as do a lot of likes and followers on your blog.I for instance at this age and stage in life want health for myself and for my and dear ones. But would I be happy if we are  healthy but don’t get enough to eat or shop or go on vacations.I also want my Lhasa Snowy back, as I long for my parents.

We are a greedy lot .

I don’t know about you but I…
